Clarification: the girls themselves are the Sour Grapes Bunch's "messenger girls." The Sour Grapes are off-screen characters: a rival "club" that challenges the Banana Splits, sending one of their messenger girls to deliver their notes. Once in a while, one of the Sour Grapes would pound on the clubhouse door, and you'd see a giant fist or something come down and smash one of the Splits on the head, but that's the extent that they were seen. unsigned comment by 63.3.67.138
